Mark Lewis -- Mark received his Bachelors degree and Masters degree in Percussion Performance from Wichita State University (WSU). It was there he studied and performed with some of the greatest percussionists in the world, including Matt Wilson, Dave Samuels, Ignacio Berroa, Bradley Simmons, Andy Narell, Ed Soph, and Michael Spiro. A dedicated musician, Mark has performed nationally in festivals, workshops, and concert events with groups such as Pandora's Box, The American Sinfonietta and the WSU Percussion Ensemble. His performance abilities have led to six recording projects, including Speak To Me with Pandora's Box and Windsong with Steve Houghton.
Troy Olson -- Troy is truly one of the most innovative percussionists to ever touch the steel drum. He is pushing the steel pan to an entirely new level by arranging and performing material that has never before been attempted. His four mallet pan technique has allowed him the ability to arrange material that most musicians would never have considered possible. After arranging and performing Bach's Chaconne from Partita #2 for violin, Troy opened a new path of endless possibilities for the steel pan. After hearing Troy perform, the inventor of the modern steel drum, Ellie Mannette said, "This guy needs a top of the line instrument." With innovative style and new ideas, Troy brings an entirely new dimension to Afinke Machine. World famous pianist and composer John Serry's reaction was one of complete astonishment and total disbelief, after watching Troy perform his own arrangement of Recuerdos De Le Alhmbra. Troy has also performed for such notable performers as Dave Samuels, David Friedman and Nexus with similar results. Troy has just received his Music Performance degree from Wichita State University under the direction of Dr. J.C. Combs.

Joseph Peck -- Performing professionally throughout the United States and within a multitude of musical, social, and cultural settings, Joseph has paved his road as a music educator and performer. Joseph was born in Cleveland, Ohio, raised in Boca Raton, Florida and currently resides in Wichita, KS where he earned his BME degree in Music Education under direction of Dr. Joseph C. Combs at Wichita State University. Upon graduating with his BME degree Joseph spent two solid years travelling and performing before returing to home to Wichita. During these two years a few of the many musically and life changing experiences were performing from Arizona to Florida at coffee shops, small pubs, private parties, and schools as a solo artist, performing for three months with Potential Symphony, a 115 member steel band, for the Pan-O-Rama National Steel Band Competition on the Island of Trinidad, West Indies, and performing with master drummer Ayan Williams (Sun Ra, Salt -N- Pepper, Dionne Warwick) in such cities as Atlanta, Memphis, Kansas City, Omaha, Minneapolis, Atlantic City, Virginia Beach, Baltimore, Washington (DC), Philadelphia, and New York. As owner of Panhead Productions, director of the WSU Steel Pan Orchestra, accredited artist with the Missouri Arts Council and Arts Partners, and pannist with Afinke Machine, Joseph is steadily making an impact on the entertainment industry.

Matt Maholland -- Matt started his professional career as a percussionist directly after high school when he moved to the Lawrence-Kansas City area. His course of musical progression led him to perform in a variety of musical settings ranging from KU jazz arts ensembles and smaller fusion groups, to the City of Lawrence Municipal Band and the Missouri Repertory Opera. After a brief stint in this area, Matt migrated south to Wichita State University to further pursue the study of percussion under the guidance of Dr. J.C. Combs. It was here that Matt truly began to develop his own unique style of playing through the mixture of rudimental, classical, and traditional world music sources. Some of the masters who Matt has had the opportunity to study with include Mike Spiro, Alex Acuna, Madeline Yoyodele Nelson, Ignacio Berroa, Bradley Simmons, Jogdish Gangani, and Andy Narell. Matt has performed in most of the 48 states and in Canada, with various groups such as the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps, Keith Brion and His New Sousa Band, and a variety of collegiate ensembles.
